SURVIVING NOVA

The Nova music festival was meant to be an exhilarating night of music and dancing in the desert. But as the sun rose on October 7th, Hamas gunmen crossed the border from Gaza launching a surprise attack on Israel. Nova attendees were among the 1,200 people killed and 253 hostages taken by Hamas according to the Israeli government. The attack quickly turned into the deadliest day in Israel's history. VICE News follows survivors of the Nova music festival as well as families of those taken hostage and killed, as they deal with the trauma of the attack while grappling with Israel’s response.
